Yay! We are home! Actally we got home on Monday but still… It’s good to be home. In my own bed, in my own house! So here is the story, after Cape York went back the way we ow.came all the way too Tully. Just before Tully we had a breakdown but we got it fixed the same day and went on our way. In two or three days we were heading for Rockhamton. On the way we went through Sarina to have some lunch. Next door to the bakery there was a pet shop. Too skip all the boring details, we got a PUPPY!!! It’s a boy and we named him Zac. So we got to Rockhamton and stayed there two nights. Then we started the last strech home. After Kakadu we stayed one night in Katherine. We stoked up there then hit the road! We got to Daly Waters and stayed there one night. While we were there we had a BBQ dinner at their outback pub. The next day we packed up and continued our journey. We stopped for two nights at Borroloola, King Ash fisherman’s camp. On the second night there we had a small fire. That was fun! The next day we headed for Adel’s Grove. There we did some canoeing for a day. We stayed there two nights then went to the Lava Tubes. We also stayed there two nights. the first night we listened to a guy talk about his life around Australia. In the morning of the second day we went for a tour around the Lava Tubes. They looked neat! That night we had a sing-a-long around the fire. We left the next day. We got to cairns and got set up. There was a water park there and I spent Half the day in it. The next day we got a call from a friend of ours insisting that we join them on there trip to Cape York. So we Went along with them to Musgrave Roadhouse. After there we went to Bramwell Junction then twin falls. Now we are at Loyalty Beach. We have Just set up and are waiting for the others. Counting the kids with us including g me we have five, Two girls and three boys. The other girl is called Tully and she is three. The three boys are called Oliver, Ben and Kidan. Their ages are 11, 8 and 12. That’s all for now bye!

Kakadu

After we left Darwin on the 31st of May we went to Mary River National Park. There we did a lunch billabong cruise. I took the binoculars along and looked at a few birds and crocs. we went to have a look at a place where my Nana and Pa camped. We stayed there two days then came to Cooinda in Kakadu. After we had set up we went for a walk to the pool and had a swim. The next day we went for a walk to Majuk falls. Later that day we did two more walks to Nurlangie and Ubirr. At Ubirr we watched the sun set over the flood plains. In the morning of the third day we got up early and went for a sunrise cruise on the flood plains. We got to see and learn about the birds on the the flood plains. We even got to see some baby bird chicks! Today in the morning we went for a walk to Jim Jim falls. We had a swim at the bottom and the water was freezing! There were fish swimming round, not very big though. We had lunch there then started back to the car. Then the rest of the day was spent at the camp site. I hope you all enjoy knowing what I’m doing! I can’t wait to get home.

Litchfield and Darwin

Last week we were in Litchfield. We went to Florence falls and had a swim. The Falls looked really amazing After we went on the other walk to Buley Rock Holes. We went for another swim in the rock holes and some of the currents in some of them were really strong. The next day we went to Wangi falls. We did a rain forest walk and went back to have a swim. I climbed up a rock face and jumped into the water from a ledge. That night it rained really heavy and the shade cloth was like a dam. I was literally standing in two inches of water! The next day we left when everything was dry. That didn’t take long.

I had another encounter with frogs. This time I was in the shower, I turned on the taps and started washing my hair. When I turned back to the taps there was a small frog sitting on the cold tap. I got a fright! I continued my shower and another frog appeared on the hot tap. I was trying to find out where they had came from when the one on the cold tap moved to the hot tap and a frog stuck out it’s head from underneath the cold tap. They lived in the taps and when I turned them on, they were disturbed and came out. What a frightful surprise in the shower!

We arrived in Darwin on Friday and set up camp. I could not wait until Sunday because we were moving to a cabin! Anyway we did nothing exciting up until we moved into the cabin. We went to the markets on Sunday night that was fun. Then pretty much we have been shopping and lazying around the cabin. It’s Tuesday today and Mum’s birthday is tomorrow so say happy birthday. I got her a card and a present at the markets.

On Thursday we arrived in Katherine. The weather was humid so it was really hot. We were beginning to set up camp when some girls came along and asked if I could come and play with them at the pool. The answer was yes, so I quickly grabbed my bathers and got changed and went to the pool with the girls. The girls names were Ila, Tily and Maya. They left the next day. We checked out the hot springs but didn’t get a chance to go in them.

On Friday we went to Katherine Gorge to book a site and a boat cruise. On Saturday we packed up and left for Katherine Gorge. We quickly set up camp and went for a swim. The next day we went on a boat cruise for half the day. We saw three of Katherine’s gorges and got to swim at a swimming hole called Lily Ponds. There was a waterfall and I got to go under it. It felt like I was in a thunder storm! Katherine Gorge’s Aboriginal name is Nitmiluk which means cicada. The rest of the day was spent at the pool. At the pool I met a girl called Abi and a boy called Lachie. They were really nice! Today we were going to do a walk but now we are having a rest day. I hope you enjoyed reading about what I have done.

Lake Argyle

OK, before I tell about what I have done I am going to put some pics on about The Gibb.

My Horse was Called Moonshine.

OK, We were in Kununurra last post then we went to Lake Argyle. At Lake Argyle we got to swim in the infinity pool. It was called the infinity pool because when you look out you can see the lake behind it and it looks like it falls out onto the lake. We went for a sunset cruise on Sunday for mothers day and we got to swim off the boat. I even got to drive the boat! Now I can boast that I have swam in the same body of water as 34,000 crocs! Freshies of course. The next day we went for a walk in Keep River National Park. That was tiring! Now we are in Timber Creek NT. By the way for those who were wondering I was in WA up until now. So Lake Argyle was in WA. That’s it but here is some more pics on Lake Argyle and our walk.

The Gibb

We left Broome about a week ago and started the Gibb River Road. We had no internet so I haven’t been able to post for a while. How’s things back at school? Anyway the first place we stopped at on the Gibb was Windjana Gorge National Park. when we were there we did two walks. One was into the gorge but the other was into a dark cave where you had to wade up to your waist in water. I didn’t like that one much. Next stop we went to Manning Gorge. At Manning Gorge we had bacon and eggs. We did a really hot and looo0000ng walk into the Gorge. There was a waterfall there and I jumped off this ledge and swam under it and sat on a ledge to watch the water. When we got back to the car we got in and drove to a lookout on another gorge. (Gee, How many gorges are we going to see? A lot more then this I tell ya!) The next day we left. (Again.) We stayed to Drysdale River station. there we booked a tour to take a scenic flight over Mitchel falls and other places. That night we had diner at the Restaurant there. We all had roast pork. (We is my family and I.) It was DELICIOUS!! Dad even used a slang word to describe it! The next day we went on the scenic flight. I fell asleep for half of it since I was feeling sick. Then when I woke up the plane was coming into land. When it was coming into land it got a bit bumpy and I threw up. The day after THAT we went to El Questro but we stopped for scones and jam at Ellenbrae. We stayed at El Questro for two days. The first day we just relaxed. The second day we went to the Zebedee Hot Springs in the morning, then we went for a walk into Amalia Gorge. After that we went horse riding which was awesome! we went horse riding to a lookout. The view was brilliant! The next day we packed up and left after a walk and now we are in Kununurra. We have stayed here two days and are leaving tomorrow to go to Lake Argyle. I will report back when we get to Katherine. Adios Amigos!

Touring

Hey everyone! I saw the stairway to the moon, it looked AWESOME! That was on Sunday Oh yeah, we also went to a museum on Broome history, it was interesting. Yesterday we went to the horizontal falls, it looked so cool! We had to wake up really early to get on the bus. We drove down to the point. there was a fish farm there. we looked at the fish while we waited for the plane. When we got off the SEA PLANE. (Yeah that’s right I got to go on a sea plane!) We went onto a speed boat and went down the falls! that was AWESOME! I was right at the front! We had grilled barramundi for lunch. (Yum!) After lunch we went on a tour around the mangroves, mum went crazy about rocks. I got to be the co-pilot all the way back to Broome! Here is some pics!

Ok, we went to the movies in a cinema with no roof! Yep, watching movies under the stars is awesome. We watched OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL! Really good movie highly recommend it. The next day we drove around town doing stuff as we normally do. In the evening we rode on CAMELS yeah! That was awesome and I rode at the very front all by myself on my own camel! I rode on Paddy, mom and dad rode on Cloud. When mom’s camel was going down mom had her eye’s closed so she got freaked out! She doesn’t like camels. The next night we played at the beach while the Sun was going down, that was pretty cool! Well that’s it I guess.

Broome and pictures

After way stopped at Alice Springs we did a full day of driving. That was boring! We stopped in Daly Waters and stayed IN A CABIN!!!! Yep, that was awesome. The next day we did another full day of driving. We finally settled down Kununurra. The pool is AWESOME because it’s NOT COLD! In Kununurra I met a friend from school! Her name was Tayla and Jack Quine. She’s in grade 2 and he’s in grade 5. After we stayed in Kununurra we drove all the way to broom and arrived late. It is so humid! It’s worse than Brisbane! The pools nice and last night we watched the sun set over the sea. It was so beautiful! Today we are going do a lot of things but most will probably be boring. Well that’s the update on what’s happening.
